TSRAC is very much alive and thriving.  I have emailed your query to both Ralph and Butch WD8PPR.  There is a Sunday chat net every Sunday evening at 8pm on or near 7.240 or a little higher depending on QRM.  If you are able, please join us...Ralph is there every Sunday and provides not only club news but also FCC news pertinent to Amateur Radio.

If you provide an email address, I will send you the March 2003 newsletter for your reading pleasure.

This difference between your 2 meter antenna and a scanner antenna is the bandwidth over which the antenna will optimal reception.  A scanner is optimized to provide wider reception over a larger range of frequencies than your 2 meter.  Having said that, the 2 meter antenna will still pull RF from the air and supply it to your scanner.

Hope this helps.

Try Ramsey electronics...they carry a wide selection of fox hunt transmitters and transceiver kits.  I have built and am using the Ramsey 144 transceiver with much success.

12  eHam Forums / Elmers / Autopatch on: July 19, 2001, 06:54:21 PM
Is this autopatch for a repeater system or for a stand alone simplex radio?  Try going to:

www.hamtronics.com

They have a big selection of autopatch boards and controllers that can be used for both repeater and simplex radios; they are available in kit and fully constructed boards.

You can also check out several of the larger Ham radio distributors, they usually carry autopatchs in one complete package that can be used for either application.

Hope this helps.

The shelter used in these photos is either an AN/GRC-122 or 142 Radioteletype shelter.  Those types of shelters can usually be found for very reasonable prices from military Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices around the country.  Do a web search for DRMO; they have web-based pages that show listings of currently available military excess and how to go about purchasing excess property.

15  eHam Forums / Elmers / Kenwood PC-1A Schematic on: December 19, 2000, 08:01:39 AM
I recently purchased a Kenwood phone patch model PC-1A; unfortunately it came with no manual.  I need to know the pinouts so I can put it to use.

Thanks!
