"WOW!! I had no idea that 160M had any DX capability. All I ever noticed in the few times I listened on 160M was electric noise."
160M is a great DX band, but as with anything else you have to have a good antenna. With my simple doublet I work lots of DX. The key on 160M and 80M is a good RX antenna. It helps to use CW when band conditions are poor. The best part is that in most cases the poor ops and lids stay on the upper bands!

Go to APRS.FI (APRS.FI) and enter CT2IBQ (CT2IBQ) on the right side where it says track. After it comes up click see all. You can pan and zoom to see all APRS activity.

I really like my old FT-900AT! I see them for sale all the time for $350/400. With the Collins filters that came standard it is a very good CW rig.. With the DM 330MV power supply it makes for a very compact portable set-up.

The advantage with RTTY is QRO. It's a big advantage at times to run Legal limit rather than 20/30 watts. I love all the digital modes, but for serious DX RTTY is still king.
