1  eHam Forums / Contesting / Multi-Rig Operating on: October 04, 2006, 01:19:28 PM
This is not strictly a contesting question but contesters would be the best source of advice.

I expect soon to be participing with a group who will take several HF rigs to a portable site and operate them together. What are the dangers - if any - to operating a rig such as my FT-857D in close proximity to several other rigs all operating, say, 100 watts PEP?

Thanks in advance.

Just the answer I was looking for. I'll upgrade the transmission lines first.

Thanks and 73,

I am considering adding an amplifier.

I currently run my TS-940 barefoot into my antennas using RG-8X for one and RG-59/U for the other.

Can I keep these transmission lines if I were to run 800 watts PEP? If not, what would be the most practical replacement coax cables?

Thanks in advance.
