Well I ordered the Larsen. I ordered the short one with the spring. It's going on the roof of my truck. I go fourwheeling sometimes so i want something that will hold up. It will actually be mounted on the mounting bracket of my lightbar so it will have a little protection. Thanks for all the replies!

Found the answer in the good old fashioned news groups! ______________________________________________________ Yes, the same cable will work on both units, plus a few more Yeasu models.
Different software, though. RT Systems will sell you just the software, without bundling it with the cable as Yaesu does.

Here is what I'm trying to do...
I have the cable for the VX-150 I want to program a FT-50
They both use the same clone cable so logic would say they should use the same data cables right?
It's the cable that came with the ADMS-1F kit.
(Coincidently if you use the supplied adapter you can also use this cable on a Radio Shack Pro-95 Scanner!)
Thanks for any help! Ryan, N2YQT

I figured out how to send an email message from APRS to the internet. Is there a way to do the opposite? To send a message from an email client to an APRS station?
Thanks! Ryan

I use it mainly to monitor my weather station. I tracked my vehicle for a little. I plan on getting the Kenwood Portable that does APRS in the next week or two. Then I can monitor my weather station form all over, send email if i need to, and allow friends/family to know here I am. This is useful when I go for rides on the four wheeler or snowmobile in case something happens...
