I want to put up a 5 band vertical, I read somewhere that chicken wire spread out under the antenna would be an effect ground instead of using radial wires? ?

I removed the case and found that the relay were not burnt, it was the plastic that seperated the relays. I don't think I burnt that part of the relay, Is there any way to test the relay? Should you be able to hear a click when the relay is activated?

I need a antenna relay for a TR3 that I just aquired. While trying to load the rig I was only able to get about 10 watts on my meter, and then I got smoke in the area of the relay, I pulled the relay and found it had a burnt area on the side. I don't know if I caused the burnt area or it was already there. Any help would be appreciated.

This is reply to several of you that responded to my orginal ? how to connect a Dentron GLA100 to my Kenwood TS 680. My Kenwood show a connection with 12 volts that is supposed to key an amplifier.Someone said that I could make circuit to key the amplifier but then went on the say that if the amplifier uses 100-130 negative keying I can't use the circuit. Without keying the amplifier how am I to know what kind of voltage it requires? Would 12 volts that I have coming from my Kenwood key the amplifier. TNX for all your help.
