KD9TFX is going to be my call sign.  I have researched it and so far it does not appear to be taken.

Hi, ok here is a real test of what HAM can do, I'm not sure I can do it or how, or what band to use etc...

Basically I have a friend about 300 or 400 miles away, he usually talks on 2m, could it be possible to talk to him that far away?  Would we need to change bands?  How much power would I need to sucessfully talk to him?  While I'm on that subject, what bands are best for doing what...  One more question, I read about amatuer satelites, what is one and how do you get one 'up' there?  Thanks!

Hello, I am new to the world of HAM. I have a question about different mobile radios.  Does such a radio exsist:  I would like to have access to all Technician bands as well as the CB band too.  One other concer, about how much would such a radio cost?  Thanks!
