"why are so so worried on just when these antennas will arrive, since you have all your Satellite gear up For Sale"
Im not taking sides, but whether the buyer has sold or not sold equipment has no bearing on the transaction.

Life is dangerous.
One can avoid doing a lot of dangerous things...riding motorcycles, skiing, climbing towers with only a belt, putting radios on the front seat held with bungees, OR one can take risks one is comfortable with.
Doing either doesn't make one "stupid", just different from ones own personal preferences.

This is just not true.
Yes, it's better to use a fall-arrest harness (and I do) along with a positioning belt, but saying "a fall with a belt will likely kill you" is just foolish.
Your message is a good one, but it would be far more effective if it was more accurate.

Why should they have been deleted? If the issue was factual, (which apparently it was) it served to provide information for the rest of the community.

One set of sweep tubes can last you a decade if you treat them nicely. It's not really a big issue. Use 6GJ5's (direct plug in) will save you a bundle.

Drifting?
That's why there's this thing on the front of most every radio called a "VFO" to tune the station back into the pass band

250hz is indeed for battlefield conditions, not for casual qsos or band cruising...waaaay too narrow for that style of work.

Based on conversations with Hal, I'd highly recommend him. Hams are cheap, and the prices mentioned in the original note are not bad at all, for gear that is backed by a reputable outfit, who will be there if something happens to go wrong.
Yes, you can scarf up something cheaper maybe at a hamfest, but you're on your own if something goes wrong.
Hal at Land-Air is good people. I'd recommend him.

Cut it open? Surely you're kidding!
I've gotten the side open without removing the VFO. Removing the VFO is not that hard either... a few wires and 4 nuts under the chassis, as I recall.
I believe I took the left side plate off (the side with the function switch), and I know I did it with the VFO in the chassis.

This is an old thread but....
These amps ARE junk...lousy bias so SSB sound lousy and splatters buckshot all over the band, poor cooling , ridiculous layouts. Plus, with each sweep tube costing the same as a Russian GI7B external anode triode, it's ridiculously expensive
