271  eHam Forums / Elmers / G5RV Short installation "Will it work" on: November 08, 2001, 07:36:45 PM
The length was a typo, I have to put in a Vee instead of a Inverterd Vee because the coax has to run out of a atic vent, other wise in a inverted vee configuration the coax (must use) will run with in 5" of the twin lead going back up to the vent

Since I rent and do not have much room for a antenna,
I think I have come up with a way to use the Short G5RV

(1) Mount it in a V
(2) Each leg is 20.5 ft long top end 18ft in the air
(3) The top of each leg 35ft apart
(4) The bottom 4 ft of the V is flat 8ft and above     ground
(5) Feed with 14.4ft of vertical 300 ohm twin
(6) The 300 ohm twin lead connects to 52ohm Coaxil cable feed (50 ft long)
to a MFJ -941 tunner

The above will make each side of center 20.5ft long with a 14.4ft tunning
stub.

I would like some comments on the above
