1  eHam Forums / Misc / FT-950 and BetterRF Yaesu Tune Control on: June 01, 2008, 07:25:51 AM
Yes, the ham I had first emailed did do the mod prior to using the control between the AH-4 and FT-950.

Still waiting to see if anyone else out there has it working 100%.

In the Eham reviews area there is a post which seems to indicate the FT-950 and the Yaesu Tune Control do not tune together on all bands. I called Jerry at BetterRF and asked him when this would be fixed and he said it works fine with the FT-950. My question is, is there someone out there using the FT-950 with the Yaesu Tune Control who can confirm it works on all the FT-950 bands? I have an Icom AH-4 I'd like to use with it. Thank you for any info you can provide. 73 de Ken AB3CN

I also saw this mod at Www.Ham.dmz.ro and the very striking change in receiver noise. I have ordered the diodes from mouser (50 @ 0.09 each) in anticipation of doing the mod. But like you I wanted to know if someone else has tried it other than the nameless ham on Www.Ham.dmz.ro. I haven't gotten around to it yet but I wanted to look up the diode specs on the radio with what I'll be putting in.
