Hi, Have been given this antenna 2 years ago and using it on all HF bands (not 2m) It preforms very well @10 foot above ground. I am happy and find very little diffence(if anything -- it's better) between this and an "all band , ladderline fed dipole @ 25 foot(too low, I know but CC limit me). Just two things, guy it 3/4 way up!!! with non conductive lines and wrap the inductor well with tape as the teflon coax comes loose after a time. Bought it cheep (new) at a hamfest and it WELL worth the £180 I paid. Hope it helps 73 de Etienne Swanepoel 2E0ESW Bude Cornwall UK

Dear ELMERS. I hate to ask this as there are the "product reviews" here I have read through and trough BUT before investing in an HF only rig (I have Ft1000MP V, FT897, FT857, TS2000 and FT847) I wish to have elmer opnion on this . This is for me (and even more so) for my newly licenced son (age 13--going on 23, hi ,hi, ) as a dedicated HF no frills rig. Base use only
Deeeeeep technical stuff and 1dB differances are NOT the issue, neither is money. Please break my agony.
Thanks in advance as always 73 Etienne Swanepoel Bude Cornwall UK

My 2 cents worth, e-mail Bob Heil, ask the man himself, he is very approachable and solved my similar probs on a Yaesu in one sentence. Worth a try and FREE. 73 Etienne Swanepoel Bude Cornwall UK

Hi All,
I am in the process of building the above for 3.5 mhz thru 18Mhz (and another for 14 to 30). This requires a vacuum variable cap of 20 to 1000pf which I have purchased. Problem is this cap and its motor drive is quite heavy and thus the cap will be at the "bottom" of the loop. No problem so far, plenty of plans on the internet BUT, and this is the question, How do I lead the coax supply line away from the secondary inductive feeding loop placed at the oposite, "top" side of the loop. The other way round one takes it straight down to the ground on the non inductive support pole and at 90 deg away at ground level BUT what to do at the top of the loop to avoid coupling and detuning. BTW DC supply for tuning is through the coax and Inside the copper tube to the cap motor as before (from the supply loop further).
Can I enter the tube with the coax at the bottom (cap side) and feed the RF (dc supply left at the cap)within ONE only side of the loop to the top where the inductive coupling loop is?
As always thanks in advance.
