Spoke will service technician from AES and they said that the MARS modifictions would be the same for the 857D as the regular 857 for use on MARS frequencies. The biggest concern would be for you to go in and copy pre-programmed 60M frequencies for programming after modification was complete.

I was looking for the same MARS mods for the 857D. so that I can use it on MARS also. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything either. Guess it is a phone call to Yaesu or AES Milwaukee for me to see if there is one available.

Here is some more information that i garnered last night while troubleshooting. by the way I really appreciate all the feedback. The static bursts are present even with the truck off, the antenna disconnected, and all over the 2 mtr frequency spectrum. I am using the same antenna system that i used before on a icom 2800h dual-band radio. it also occurs after the radio has been running for approximately 5 minutes or more. and gets more frequent the longer and hotter the radio might get. My new question is this... Could the noise possibly be associated with a cold solder joint, or maybe even a bad squelching circuit interior to the radio?

the problem stays there even if the antenna is connected or not. also occurs anywhere on 2 mtr band. this never occurred before when i was using the same antenna and power system for an icom 2800h. and it only happens after the radio has been on for a short period of time.(i.e 5min) and very frequently after. it is never present when the radio is in a (cold) condition. (just turned on) after being off for the night or a couple of hours.

I recently perchased a brand new icom 706mkiig. I use it primarily on 2mtr and 70cm. However, I have noticed that on 2mtr I keep getting intermitent squelch bursts that last maybe a second or two. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this or any other ideas on how to troubleshoot the issue. 73's

Hello i just recently purchased a icom 706mkiig. And since i have been using it I have been experiencing intermittent squelch bursts on 2mtrs, regardless of where the squelch is set at. does anyone have any ideas as to why tis is occuring? 73's chris-k9hpc
