Please PLEASE be very careful with this line of experimentation. Being cooked slowly from the inside is not a nice way to go

378  eHam Forums / Elmers / Transformer Turns Question on: April 17, 2005, 11:40:16 AM
Ummmm, OK. So if I have to put (say) five turns on the primary would I still use five turns on each secondary winding?

379  eHam Forums / Elmers / Transformer Turns Question on: April 17, 2005, 09:48:57 AM
I need to construct a small signal transformer to split a single signal between two modules, specification as follows:

Primary - must present 50 ohm load at 45MHz with both secondaries connected to their respective loads

Secondary 1 - feeding 50 ohm load

Secondary 2 - feeding 50 ohm load

I must admit that I'm getting really stuck on the turns ratio. If the primary is (for example) 10 turns on a T50-10 core should each secondary be 5, 10 or 20 turns?

380  eHam Forums / Elmers / Power - RMS or Peak to Peak on: April 10, 2005, 02:42:20 AM
Hi there

When working out the power into a fifty ohm load (using either V*I or the I^2*R formula) should I be using the peak to peak voltage as seen on my scope or the RMS voltage seen on my RF voltmeter?
