Dick, this is what S9 verticals does, sort of.  They have extendable with wires inside.

NI0C, I had the same experience a few months ago.  Deja vu.  Thought it was unusual but entertaining.  Hey, I needed it, so I as not going to say a word.

Note that this is for using a single tribander yagi with a rig on each band.  It is NOT for two rigs on the same band.

Are you looking for a receive-only separate unit like for 160 meters?

Was 3Y5X the dxped where everybody was calling on 20  up and down the band and the op would just tune in and swoop down on a caller to work him and then move on? If that was the event, it was total chaos. I hope that never happens again that way. Apologies if I have it confused.  That one almost pushed me away from ever using SSB.

Hey, I read somewhere that WAZ on160 does not require all 40 zones? How did that get into effect?

I second the DailyDX subscription.  Worth every penny, and it is NOT expensive.
53  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: P5/K6VVA Udate on: March 17, 2013, 06:30:05 PM
I love this hobby, I love DXing, but I don't know if I would even try for that one.  Unless I had a monster antenna and was West Coast, it would be tough to do.  Maybe wait until reunification and P5 gets deleted
54  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: Is it 2013, or 1979? Is the cycle really THAT bad? on: March 17, 2013, 06:28:15 PM
Luke, maybe it's the Aussie accent, but every time I hear a VK station I feel like I gotta work you guys.  Even if SE VK (sorry about that mixup).

Maybe I am jealous that you ops always seem more relaxed while I always feel stressed or in a hurry.  But I have NEVER heard a rude, angry, or unhappy VK station on the air. 35 years in the hobby, always courteous and friendly.  Even when Skylab was falling down out of the sky in 1979, I talked to some VK stations who laughed it off even if it should hit their house (luckily noone got hurt from that).

Just wish I heard you VK's more often, and hopefully on 160 (now would be a good time, as we near the spring equinox, so I will get up before my SR).

Luke that is awesome, especially since most everything is "long path" from VK6!  No such thing as easy DX from western VK.

You need to contact KY6R.  He has achieved honor roll on DX and he lives in a valley east of San Fran.  He has shared his experiences, which are very insightful.

Randy, there is a ton of folks who can help on the yahoo group for miracle whip antennas.

2100 local, hearing VK2SJC on 28460.  I remember that happening a lot in the summer of 1979, when I was in CALIFORNIA!  But not from the West Coast, and not much in this cycle.

I show four VK contacts on 10 meters, March of 2011, March of 2012, and October of 2012.  Seven ZL contacts on 10 during the same period.  The sun continues to mystify.  Every time we think we have it figured out...

So I am not giving up on this cycle yet!

The week will be worth the wait.  Did you get the dual receivers?

Three cheers for the 9M4SLL DXpedition team.  They get a donation from me even though they already uploaded to LoTW (in fact, that is the reason WHY they are getting a donation from me!)
