Hello: I just picked up this rig from a friend of mine and I want to dedicate it to PSK on 20 and 40 meters.
I have purchased a Downers Digital interface and I am able to receive signals but I am unable to transmit in digital, SSB works just fine.
What menu's have to be turned on and what are the approximate settings you would suggest that I start with.
I have HamScope loaded on my computer set for COMM Port 4 and 9600 Baud but it will not key the rig.
Suggestions and help would be appreciated.

AT 50.00 bucks it is overpriced. Why should I pay for a program that has not been beta tested nor does it do anything that any one of a couple dozen Email programs already do and they are FREE of charge.
Windows already includes free email software and Linux also includes free email software.
Just my observations.

eHam Forums / Amplifiers / Time for an amp?

Fred: Forget the Amp. Invest in the SteppIR 4 element with the 30+40 meter addon with a 70 or80 foot tower. You will never be sorry and you will find that with a 100 watts into the SteppIR you can work anything that you can hear. I have one and I also have an amp. The Amp is only used on 160 meters.
Good luck with your project and when you assemble the SteppIR for the instructions, take your time and you will be the happiest ham in a 30 mile radius of your home.

Hello: Well here is my sad tale of woe. I have the following interfaced to my Icom
Tokyo HP Amp Microham Interface SteppIR antenna
I want to add the above rotor.
I have many USB ports available and I have 2 unused comports also available.
When I get everything working this is what I would like to have:
Radio Amplifier SteppIR microHAM keyer TRX Manager Logic8 logging program
I can make everything work except the rotor. I have tried RS232-USB converter, sees port but seems to time out with error message that it can't read 4 bytes
I have tried configuring the rotor through TRX Manager but it doesn't seem to communicate at all.
If someone could give me a hint or a link or written instructions for this problem I would be grateful.
Thank you,

Hello Kevin, I think it is geat that you are working on software related to the hobby. This is my wish list: Logbook that emulates Logic8 Radio and Antenna control that emulates TRX Manager PSK is around but hasn't been updated in a while Rotor Control for my RS232 controlled Rotor
These would all work together to allow me to get Bill Gates completely out of my basement. I have already switched everything else in the house over to Suse 10.2 and am currently looking at PCLinuxOS for my Thinkpad Laptop.
Tried a couple from the UBUNTU (spelling ?) but didn't care for the file manager and the overall appearance.
If you need a beta tester, let me know. I would love to lend a hand if possible.

My question, being as how I am an old fart, would be WHY do you want to put an amplifier on 10 meters. Granted we are still waiting on the sun spot cycle to restart but still I have to wonder why you need an amplifier on 10 meters.
Color me curious
