Not at all, while the 6m band goes from 50-54MHz, the bandplan for SSB is from 50.100 and 50.600, with almost all of the activity between 50.100 and 50.250.
If interested in 6m PSK31, try using 50.290

The wind guage is suspicious, if it is one of the wireless ones, they have low power xmtrs in them. IIRC they work either just below the 70cm band (which shouldn't be causing a problem on 2m for you) or somewhere around 49MHz -- where a 3rd harmonic would be in the 2m band, and possibly be causing the problem.

hmmmm, the plot thickens...
From your last message, you datated that you turned off all of the power to your house and ran on battery power -- and still had the noise, but when you run battery power from your car, there is no noise.
I would suspect that the noise is not orginating from within wour house, as you still had noise when power was off and running on battery power. This is a longshot guess, but is it possible that the noise is originating from something in your neighbors house, and while you are operating from the mobile, the metal body of the car shields out the noise?
Try the following -- Extension cord to house, power supply & rig in car, use car antenna -- is there noise? Next try moving the rig out of the car (still on power supply, and extension cord) is there noise now?
If there is now noise while running the power supply in the car, but there is noise while running outside of the car, then I would suspect that the noise is coming from a neighbor, or one of your utility poles.
If you have a ht, try walking about with it, and see if the noise is worse in different locations, you might be able to pinpoint where the noise is coming from

eHam Forums / Elmers / Is Yaesu FT-100D a CAT radio?

Speaking as one of the authors of a control program for the rig, I would have to say yes. Unfortunately, Yaesu did not allow for full control of the radio thru the serial port. There are some things that just cannot be done with the limited command set provided by Yaesu. http://www.qsl.net/kc2ivl

The noise is probably originating somewhere in your house, but not from the power supply itself. Try the following:
Hook up radio to a battery, in your shack, as you stated, this causes the noise.
Now try switching one electrical circuit off at a time from your service box, and try again... and again.... until there is no more noise.
Once you have isolated the circuit, you can try switching the circuit back on, and trying individual items on that circuit. Turn each item off until you figure out which one is causing the noise. Most likely you will find out that it some motor driven appliance, or possibly a flourscent fixture, but I have seen a loose bulb in a socket cause the same problem.

I am trying to get a group together to use PSK31 & other soundcard/digital modes anywhere in the Central NJ area. I am about 5 miles south of Trenton, and have capabilities on 6m, 2m & 70cm. If anyone out there is interested, please drop me a email @ kc2ivl@arrl.netTHX

I have heard a quick 'hi' tapped out in morse on the car horn a few times. I suppose that a 'cq' would work also, but the rapid series of just dits is a better attention getter.
