That was a great post Tom. When I get back to the US I can't wait to get my station set up.

AD4U and W3MR.

It would be interesting for me to know about what these towers cost total?

I have ordered the book. What would it cost to build a full size vertical for 160 meters. Has anyone built one lately. I suppose a insulated tower is the best way?

   Thanks in advance
6  eHam Forums / CW / Morse Code in the Movies on: February 10, 2008, 04:32:21 PM
The best movie I have seen with morse code is " A Night to Remember". It is the story of The Titanic. It was made in 1958. The code used in this movie was true to history and there are several sceens in the radio room.

I suspect W6WBJ is on that repeater often.

Your TI-82 may scare the VEs when you test. Make sure you can demonstrate how to clear the memory to them. It's much easier to write out the problem and use a calculater to solve the individual steps.

Make sure you return to the forum and let us know how you worked this out!

           Good Luck

11  eHam Forums / Elmers / Icom FL-101 and FL-53A install in IC-765 on: November 07, 2006, 05:24:37 AM
Thanks Jim. I am installing these filters this weekend. I got a reply on the yahoo IC-765 just this morning and he said the exact same thing.

Do you still have these 765s? What radio's have you found to be better than the 765 on CW?

               Thanks

Thanks Phil. I will do the search today.

13  eHam Forums / Elmers / Icom FL-101 and FL-53A install in IC-765 on: November 06, 2006, 04:40:58 PM
I have checked the Icom website, the 765 Notes, and both the Service and the operating manuals.

Do these filters require soldering and nuts and washers like a FL-53A is installed in a IC-718?

The FL-53a has the threaded rods and four pins. I haven't seen the FL-101 yet. It will be here tomorrow.

I also checked the yahoo group for this info.

         Thanks

Service monitors are pricey! I don't remember the article in my QST magazines.

            Thanks again!

No luck on the article search. The service manual requires a counter with 0.1 to 100 MHz range, plus or minus 1 ppm or better accuracy, and the sensitivity is 100 mV or better.
