Hi Lon, Glad we can disagree on somthing here. I was going to use the same phrase about some of the replies but was too polite (the are experts afer all.) I thought there would be some amongst the readers of my query but as usual when I have a query there is always someone who knows nothing about the subject but cant resist poking their nose in. (sadly) and others who have no knowledge of history.

I was refering to the gentleman in top hat and suite; I wonder if he knows something of the RSGB? its big here in the u/k something like your ARRL only older. It was formed by well known pirates of the day; if you havent been a pirate then then you have never been a ham. Arthur as regards qrm I worked on 13cms with a home built transverter 15years ago. No qrm:)

|Hi Don, the shack is on the far side of the cottage walls are about 1mtr thick and 3 of them to get through hence my wanting to fix an outside aerial. was thinking of using scatelite socket /plug and coax.If I ever manage to open the router. Someone suggested raming a screwdriver in its side and wrenching it appart; must say I',m a more gentle person than that :)Al.

Hi, been a long time since I was on here; well I'm still alive.
Have seen an antenna by a ham for 2.4Gigs 4 Quads in line
matched by open wire (2.5mm dia) with a half wave matching in the middle.
Wonder if someone can assist with the open wire spacing?
Have seen many of these antennas but they dont have any matching between the elements. This is for wifi work where I'm having problems. Many hanks Arthur
