1  eHam Forums / Clubs / Death Valley Questions on: September 10, 2005, 10:29:45 PM
I didn't know where to post this question so if there is somewhere better to post this please point me in the right direction...

I'll be visiting Death Valley and Panamint Valley in November for some remote off roading.  I'm looking for a list of repeaters that cover the area and which ones will be monitored on a regular basis incase we get into trouble.  I've been looking around the internet and I can't find much.

Thanks, Jason
2  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / Suggestions for SWR Meter? on: September 08, 2005, 09:48:42 PM
Just to add to my previous post...

It will be used on a mobile rig in my Jeep that is only used for off roading because the antenna may get hit from time to time so I want to check out the SWR every now and then to make sure every thing is okay.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to leaving the SWR inline  all the time or just when I want to check it out a couple of times a year?

Thanks, Jason

Can anyone suggest a reliable inexpensive SWR or Power or Combo meter that will work well for 2m/70cm, with 6m as a bonus if I change rigs?  I'd hate to get the first thing I think is good and find out its junk so if anyone could allow me to learn from their mistakes positive outcomes that would be great.

Oh, I don't really need anything over 50 watts, I can't see myself every running an amplifier.

Thanks, Jason
