Well it looks like I will be giving up the good gas mileage. I think there are some good deal out there now on a gas hog SUV.  Smiley

I connected an external power supply to the radio in the trunk.  It made no difference in the noise problem.

I have installed an Icom 208H in my 08 Civic Hybrid.  The radio is in the trunk with a mag mount antenna on the trunk lid.  The control head is located in front of the shift lever.  The power cable comes directly off the battery throught the firewall under the center console, under the backseat and into the truck.  With the engine running I have a nose level about S3 and increasing to S5 when breaking.  Any suggesting for reducing this noise will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your help.  73

I have searched my radio manuals for info. on how to cross band repeat. (VX-7R and IC-7000).  I can find nothing.  What do I need to look for in manuals.  Maybe I'm not seeing the forest for the trees.  Any help will be appreciated.

The meter on the amp shows 400 watts when the external meter shows 100.  What am I suppose to believe?

11  eHam Forums / Elmers / Amplifier Output Question on: August 19, 2007, 05:33:39 PM
I have a Ameritron ALS 600.  Tuning on 20 meters my external meter shows a very low SWR and an output of about 500 watt.  When I switch to SSB my meter only reads about 150 Watts at peak modulation.  I am driving the mic with all I can.  THe radio is an Icom 756 Pro the mic is Icom SM-20.  I bought this amp used and it is about 10 years old.  Any suggestion and/or advice will be appreciated.
12  eHam Forums / Elmers / Internal Tuner in Kenwood TS-480 on: January 28, 2006, 05:51:36 PM
Can anyone tell me how to turn off the internal antenna tuner in the Kenwood TS-480.  I went to the menu and switched it over to ant-2 the connection I am not using, but it seems like to me it is still working.  Any advice/help will be appreciated.

Thanks
