Hi,

I have a TS-480SAT and a TM-D710GA in my home station. I'd like to be able to to use an HT when I'm around my house to listen to and talk to HF stations via the TS-480SAT. I don't have a Sky Command HT so I'm not interested in controlling the TS-480 from the HT other than to transmit and listen.

On page 71 and 79 of the TS-480 manual this crossband repeat option is described. A specially wired Mini DIN 6-pin cable is required. Do you know where I can buy such a cable? Ideally, cheap on ebay?

Thanks,
John

When I did some TS-480 interfacing for a neighbor, I used an old PS/2 cable from a PC keyboard to get the mini-DIN 6 plug.

If I purchase a cable and mail it to you, are you willing to wire it for me for these radios to work? I don't have the skills or equipment to produce a high-quality, sturdy cable.

Thanks!

Don't have to mail me any cables; I have plenty of old keyboards to cannibalize. Let me find some old keyboards to cannibalize and get the result in the mail to you. Your qrz.com postal address good?

Seeing you're in Ellicott City... if you get a chance you can likely find me at CARA/PVRC W3AO Field Day (probably working digital desk again).

Way to go Tim Smiley  I got rid of all those 6 pin din (PS/2) type keyboards and replaced them with USB ones so can't help you there.

Hi Tim,

I sent a note to your QRZ.com email address. Is that a good address for you?

Thanks,
John

Neither. I need the 6-pin DIN to 6-pin DIN to connect the VHF/UHF radio to the HF radio.

I order all of my cable needs from AMAZON...   The trick is what to type in to get there haha...

On GOOGLE just type in '6-PIN (M-M) DIN CABLES AMAZON' should get you there...  Got me to a 6-foot PS2 MINI DIN  6 PIN M-M cable for 4.99 plus shipping.  Has good pictures to see if that is what you really need...

If you select IMAGES instead of WEB then you have several pages of like items to mouse click on to see what they are...
