How young?

Young in Amateur radio terms is like 50. Which is... sort of old. Those girls would cross the street if they saw me.

To be honest, that 'RasPi as a transmitter' article link really put me off.  I've seen it doing the rounds before, but Hams should know better.

1) It creates more QRM than even the worst CBer
2) It encourages unlicensed and untrained people to experiment with radio illegally

People might think I'm nit-picking due to its low power output, but sooner or later if that kind of thing is encouraged someone will slap on an IRF 510 Mosfet and cause some nasty interference.

We as Hams should be publishing articles on why its a bad idea, not spreading such information.  It is hardly innovative anyway; switching an IO pin on a microcontroller has been doable for quite some time.

That said, you could perhaps change my mind if you provided me with the call signs of your ambassadors Wink

I've been a subscriber to that sub for a few months now. While that video was silly, the demographic there, compared to most ham forums, is much younger, much more inclusive, and more well-rounded as individuals.

You've probably never heard that old song, "Never make a pretty woman your wife".
Listen to those lyrics carefully. There is some serious wisdom in there.

It doesn't really apply you've got enough money!  Just ask Trump, or most of the big stars in the sports world!!  Some women will just go to the highest bidder.
