While I appreciate the suggestion, I don't use a straight key. I am using a paddle with my radio's keyer.

 Congrats on beginning yur cw journey.  The Fists cw club, http://www.fistsna.org/ offers numerous on air activities and have volunteer cw mentors.

I am learning with the CW Ops Academy classes.  I just finished level 1 and start level 2 in April
