Well that's quite a switch, given that you've posted many times here how much more friendly and even professional the 11-meter freebanders are compared to hams.

The smartest thing that I ever did was wait until I was 59 years old to get married and have my first child. She is 4 now and a Daddys girl. The only strange thing so far is a lot of people say "what a cute grand daughter you have with you sir".

The smartest thing I've done was to never admit to the dumb things I've done

Me: graduating college with a BSEE, and later taking a job at RCA's old R&D lab in Princeton NJ.  Otherwise I'd be another sclub...  Grin

Getting the ham license was also a good thing.

Getting a psycho girlfriend out of my life, setting things up so that it was "her idea", thus preventing nuclear-level vindictive retaliation...

(I'm well rid of her, but I still miss that dog...)

Kept my initial spending on amateur radio gear to a bare minimum.

I'm still too young to be tied down with a sedentary hobby. Maybe in 20 years.

KTN I voted for you as mayor of this Site and now you are ruining it for the both of us.  Saying you served on a Navy boat then coming in here making yourself look stupid.  Sorry man I won't be endorsing you in the future as mayor of E-Ham.  Please stop the private messages as well, I will no longer respond.
