What do you think of qrz.com's new homepage design?

I voiced my opinion with qrz.com and they said they're not changing it.

Why do people/groups/organizations/companies keep changing their website designs, when the one they had was working just fine?

A change can be a refreshing improvement, or a step backwards.

It's not as simple as 'it worked before'.

The only thing I use QRZ.com for is finding QSL information and working out which way to point the 6m beam. In that respect it still works but the rest is a mess.

I never visit their front page. All my links go directly to the forums or the swap meet. But I did take a look at the front page and agree that it's terrible. My guess is that they are trying to make it easier for the mobile user. But I will probably never go there again, so it doesn't affect me.

The biggest complaint that they had was the Solar Predictions. They made a tile that actively changed every few seconds. Many users complained about that format and they did change it back. But many users don't know that they can download that Solar Prediction display to their own PC and have it available any time. All you have to do is wrap their instructions into a local web page.

However, I did notice that their changes are affecting other areas. Now the front page has Swap Meet items. But their Swap Meet page does not reflect these items. Their Swap Meet page use to update several times a day, as new items are offered. Now it doesn't update at all.

Another issue is with the notices that they post in the Swap Meet items. These are notices about the rules and regulations and warning notices if their rules are not met. But if you have chosen to view the forum with "Dark Shack" style, all of their notices are unreadable. The text is completely washed out. I could select the text and make it readable, but why should I have to.

Yesterday, I also noticed that their call sign lookup was broken. They seemed to have fixed that right now, but who know what else they have broken.

I noted my thoughts in the thread on the subject, but I don't expect any results. They don't even respond to the thoughts of paid users. As time goes on, there is less and less that I like about QRZ. There seem to be a lot of users that agree.
