Today I was dumb enough to lose one of the black thumb screws that hold the sides of the KX2 on.

Has anybody had any luck getting a replacement of something so small and low value from elecraft, or any other source ?

Are these things generic or elecraft specific ?

I'm in the UK

May I suggest you contact Elecraft and find out?

Plan B would be to search McMaster-Carr and Granger.  If you can't find the exact replacement, get two different but matching thumb screws.

If the substitute can't be found in black, try painting them, first with zinc chromate and then a top coat of black, either flat black or semi-gloss.

Yes my route was going to be (1) store i bought from (2) elecraft (3) searching other retaiiers for something similar. I just wondered, with it being a Saturday and unable to do anythjng, ...if anybody else had successfully replaced one.

I apologize for not picking up on your "M" prefix.

While I appreciate you probably dealt with Waters and Stanton, Elecraft themselves have exceptional customer service, just ask them. I've had parts sent FOC, but there again I bought my Elecraft K1, K2, K3 and KPA500 all direct from the factory.
