I am looking for a little direction on there to start looking to solve the issue of mo meter functions on TX. I do have power output (seen during attempted tuneup).

Model TS-820S

On a side note does anyone have a fan and power switch?

Would you supply a bit more information?

Have you cleaned the band switch and meter switches?

What happens when you go to the CW mode, with the meter switch in any of the meter switch positions and key down?

Do you see where I'm going with this.  I have the TS-830s and contact and pot cleaning is a chore to expect every couple - three years.  Plus the older Kenwoods are notorious for making poor PCB contact to the frame which is the ground.

In all modes, key down the meter drops to 0 and then no movement.  I have not done anything so far other than a reasonable amount of reading with no instances of  key down meter problems.  I did not want to start tearing down and cleaning/pocking around indiscriminately without some direction.

So start with the switches and then go from there.
