I check QRZ daily to see what is interesting. They always have a FEATURED MEMBER posting. Many times the photo looks interesting so I run the call sign on QRZ. I am amazed how often the featured member does not have a biography of any kind! So why feature a member if they are not willing to say anything about themselves? Makes no sense at all. I have taken my time to look the member up and have learned nothing of interest or value. So I sent QRZ an email asking why this is. They replied that their selection process does not require the featured member to have a biography posted. So the whole thing turns out to be a waste of time - unless all you are looking for is a nice photo. Sorry QRZ - you lose on this one. I realize, of course, that this is only IMHO. Am I missing something here?

Its very likely that their selection process is automated and so would have no way to require nor check for a biography.....

Isn’t a picture still worth a thousand words?

The 'Spotlight' feature on Eham seems to function in the same way. Once in a while we get an interesting picture but some of them are boring. Your factory built transceiver plus a couple of other items on a table is not a shack picture. At least we sometimes get to see the shack pet.

Best picture of them all - the young baby wearing the headphones, even my YL liked that one.

P.S. The YL/XYL thing was decided some time ago and we're happy as we are.
