good morning
i bought few weeks ago an FT101ZD mark1
does anybody know how to modify it into a MarkII(WARC bands included)?

From memory, I think you need a new front panel, a new bandswitch, a new set of coils and crystals and driver and receiver front end circuitry, a new PA tank coil and with the FT101ZD, you will still have a bad transmitter spurious output on 18MHz when you use the 17m band.

In short, forget it!

need to get a MK2 or 3. the mk2 was the start of warc bands.
this site has tons of info on the 101zd line.. not a very good layed outsite. but if you google there link. it will give you the info.. for each build of the ZD...

if you like the 101ZD. sell the mk1 and try and find a 2 or 3 and work with it.. if u come across one with AM u be my hero. lol
man if i could find the AM board for the MK3. grrrrrr

Way less expensive to buy a WARC equipped FT-101Z vs finding parts to convert one.
