I let my subscription lapse a few years ago.
I found it to be a non-starter.

It only dealt with those individuals that have junk-yards
worth of aluminum in the air, towers that block out the sun,
and HUGE amplifiers that need separate buildings to house.

IF they would have done stories about AVERAGE
guys, you know the kind...

100 watts, simple verticals, HOMEMADE wire antennas
it would have been worth the $ 20.00, but to only see
worshipping of the contesting elite just got old.

I was a subscriber for about 5 years but it no longer interests me.

Please post the callsigns of those contesters that have those kinds of amplifiers.   Since they are likely running excessive power, then they should be reported to the contest sponsors, so they can be disqualified.

You don't need all that to contest these days... well you don't need to OWN that to contest these days. Just go online to one of the remote providers and buy some airtime for a contest weekend, and you too can be a big gun, and maybe even win a plaque.

Was great to work you in NAQP last night! A contest sponsored by NCJ.

I'm one of the guys with a simple wire antenna (well, plus a few junkyard verticals for those couple times a year I try SO2R).

You'd be surprised how much you can learn from those with lots of aluminum in the air if you listen and/or ask the right questions.

Ryan,
Good to see you here.

You know me, I do OK in contests.
Not great when you have only inefficient antennas,
but OK.

I found NCJ to be just a big BRAG rag,

Look at me, look at all I have.
You can't compete with me, I have
more than you.

I just found it to be getting OLD.
so I let my sub lapse.

Big deal, I didn't spend $ 20.00

Now beat me up guys.
That is what you do BEST !

It depends on you viewpoint ,  I consider it to be a valuable "intelligence reports" on the competition. Unfortunately, recent "events" have caused me to at least temporarily reconsider my sub.

I'm still waiting for your response to this.   Which contest stations use amplifiers that need separate buildings to house them?   What are their callsigns?

Have you reported them to the contest sponsors?   Because if what you say is true, then they are obviously using illegal power, and that is against the rules.

Huge amplifiers that need separate buildings to house? Who has that?

If someone can have a serious contest station, what's the problem?

Have YOU written an article, submitted it, and had it rejected because it wasn't about a big station?

Have you seen my setup?
