Straight Key Night was fun.  I had a good time using my 1977 TenTec Century/21 and Junker Straight key. Being a direct conversion receiver the QRM was pretty severe at times especially with the tight packs frequencies on 80m last night at the beginning.

I'd like to hear from others as well.

Hi Rich; Had my big ol Central CE-100v running 5 watts on 3560-3567. Lots of QRM to deal with but
was FB rag chew time early into it. Just had to find an empty spot and start hollerin'....

I had a handful of QSOs on 40m... Kenwood TS-850SAT, 2 el yagi @ 72'. I use a Nye 320-1 straight key w/ my left hand and a keyer w/ my right hand. I like to switch back and forth in mid sentence/word at about 20 wpm. The other ops can't tell which key I'm using.  Grin

40 in the evening was great. 20 the next day not too bad. 30m at my QTH was terrible, S9 noise all day....

15 QSOs, each with a different straight key! I posted a pic of this year's keys on ARRL's soapbox
http://www.arrl.org/images/view/Soapbox/20180101_202357.jpg

but it doesn't rotate or size right...

2 Q's on 40 late in the evening.  My wrist gave out after 30 minutes. I meant to work some more the next day, but didn't get around to it.

I enjoyed SKN this year.  Probably a half dozen conversations, some with my 1939 McElroy Standard and the rest with my Czech military surplus key (best mil key I've used, and I've used many...). Funny enough, unless it's very fast (a relative term) I'm generally using the same keys daily.  I reserve the Begali for when my bug skills cannot support the pace of conversation.
