Front view:

1.  Mic
2.  Stby
3.  Down
4.  Up
5.  Eight volts plus
6.  No Connection
7.  Ground Mic
8. (center) Ground Connection (Standby)

Just a clarification on Vern's posting.

Pins 2 and Pins 8 are used for PTT.  Radio transmits when Pin 2 is "grounded" on Pin 8.
The usage of Standby, in this context, is new to me.

1. Mic +
2. PTT +(Standby)
3. Down
4. Up
5. 8 VDC +
6. No Connection
7. Mic - (shield or ground)
8. Center Pin,  PTT - (Standby)

I beleieve that all radio mfg. have standardized on this configuration for 8-pin microphone connectors.
