Just bought a Kenwood 820 and see the band switch has an AUX position. The manual makes no mention of this. Can I use it for a WARC band? What would it take to do that?

If you would forward your email address to N1PQ@aol.com, I have a text file to send you which may shed light on WARC bands usage on the TS-820  73, Pete Quinn

I thought the AUX position was for crystal-controlled transmission, such as for a channelized MARS frequency outside the ham band.

The TS820S has sharply tuned receive and transmit circuits that did not accommodate WARC band use.  The TS830S was the first of this family to include the WARC bands, and many changes were made to do so.
