My pk232mbx has stopped giving me time stamps, daystamp or any info on stamps, is there a battery for this purpose, pk232 is about 8 years old..thanks..W4TZG

 There is a battery but only for backing up the rom chips. To keep the time going in the PK-232MBX you must install a clock chip. The instructions on doing this is in your manual. Without this chip you will need to use the daytime command to set the date and time each time you power on the TNC. Some terminal programs will do this for you.

What software are you using> If you are using program that comes with the PK-232 it is not Y2K compliant and it stopped the time routine 01-01-2000. In order for it to perform as spec you need to upgrade to Pacter 99. Pacterm 99 works like a dream and if you make the hardware upgrade it will operate PSK31 as well.
