I lost the bloody manuel to the radio (already), not a good sign! However, just how in the heck do you stop the tone burst upon transmitting before one talks? I seem to be cutting my voice off, and makes things very confusing.....Thanks DMC

it sounds like you have the european 1750 tone burst set.  Not used too much here . Probably a menu item. similar to ctcss in function but done differently.
