I have recently purchased a used FL-30 SSB filter for my Icom 730 with no instalation instructions and noticed there is a in and out side to the filter and the filter can be installed in either direction on the board. Can some one please tell me what posistion this filter is to be installled.

Thanks, Dave

If you go to eHam 'Links' page, them 'Commercial-Repair', contact Scott Malcolm', ICOM repair expert as shown on the link page. Scott installed my FL-30 filter in my IC-730. He can advise you.

Hi,

normally, all filters are bi-derectional. It means the input and output impedances are the same and also the passband shape (electric) is then same. You can insert the filter as you like and it should perfom has expected. You may have to re-align the carrier oscillator.
