Take a look at the Maldol MH-610.

Yes I agree The Maldol 610 is an excellent antenna compared to the dummy load that comes with the rig. The only thing is that it is a bit long.

Get an sma/bnc converter and any decent 2 metre expndable whip will boom in!

 i read several reviews about the mh-610 when looking to replace ant... no negative comments found . so......bought one , y like it !
performance seems greatly improved over orig ant.
(unity on 2m, gain on 220/440mhz.)

The stock antenna that comes with the TH-F6a is an excellent performer - for ME in Southern California. I regularly successfully converse on 2M, 220, and 440 on scores of systems with it.

I'd like to suggest that one use the stock anetnna and give it an honest workout. If your personal experience is unsatisfactory, then you might be asking too much from a mere HT antenna - and might need improvement.
