"Why would you have to hide a radio you purchased?"

Well, if I purchase a radio for $1000 then the wife says "if you can affort to spend $1000 for the radio then you can afford to give me $1000 for a new outfit." That means I end up paying $2000 for a $1000 radio  Grin

If you can afford the $1000 for the radio then you can afford the $1000 for her for some new clothes!

My wife doesn't operate that way. I buy a lot of golf equipment during the season and she never says "Well you just bought a $450 driver so I want to buy $450 in clothing"

I must have married the right woman  Grin

Agreed. Every big dollar item I purchase I tell her about or she knows ahead of time. Little purchases, usually under $100, she does not care. She does the same for me.

And that my friend is how I have managed to stay married for 30 years  Grin

hi

I got 99% of my gear used and when my wife tells me
'you got another box today,it was heavy, I tossed it in the garage'

I tell her thanks!

All my gear was paid for from buying and selling other gear.

My wife can cook and I keep her in plain sight!

I got away with putting up my HF vertical antenna by telling the XYL that it was there for her to grow plants up!

Me: Hey honey, there's this new radio out called a Hilberling.  I'd like to get it.
XYL: Sure, get it! I know you'd never put us in debt.

I retest frequently.  Same results each time.
