Kenwood F7E band LCD Flashes on and off, e.g. "FM",or FMN, LSB, USB, etc etc  why does it flash on and off, it never used to, can't find anything in the instructions, many thanks M3XEM ka05@lycos.co.uk

Does it do it all the time?  Or just on a specific frequency?  Some radios have a feature where the display will flash like that if you try to transmit out of band.  Or maybe the battery is low (won't hold a charge).

Pardon, if the Kenwood is a base or mobile set, the memory battery may have gone low.  I really don't know the F7E!  :-)

I believe that the blinking mode indicator means that the receive attenuator is on.  Hit the F key, then the MONI/ATT key (bottom button on the side with the PTT.
