I am usure as to what i have, a friend next door droped off one of these he got at a grage sale. What is it?

The brain I once had is ailing, but if I remember right, the first number is the input power, the next number was the output, and the letter means the band:  

A= 50 MHz
B= 144 MHz
C= 220 MHz
D= 440 MHz

Can someone check me on this?  It would seem this unit is a high-powered HT amplifier, from the early 1980s.

Otherwise, it's a toll call to Mike at M2 to see if my memory is correct.

Yep, it is an old KLM two meter power amplifier, rated 2W drive for 140W output.  This was the easiest of that series to "blow up" because it had a sensitive driver stage built in, and more than a few Watts of drive power would fry it.  As such, I'll bet not many are still out there that actually work!

KLM became Mirage many years ago, and of course now Mirage is a division of MFJ.  The KLM-labeled amps are about 20 years old, some older.

I am working on a KLM PA2-140B amplifier.  I got the amp from a friend who said i t didnt work apparently he got it as part of a trade,  anyway i am lookin for the manual and schematic,  also any problems people have had with them and what was broken or fried.  any info would be great.
