Feeding a Half Square

I'm building a half square antenna for 20 meters fed at an upper corner with RG58.

Question: In feeding the antenna with coax:

One website said: Coax center conductor goes to a verical element and braid goes to horizonal phasing element.

Another website said: Coax center conductor goes to horizontal phasing element and braid goes to a vertical element.

Can someone tell me which is correct? I believe it is the former but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

Never mind - I got the answer. Coax center goes to horizontal element.

It really shouldn't matter if the coax is properly decoupled from the
antenna with a balun or choke coil.

For that kind of Half Square do we need radials ? if yes does each vertical element need its own radials ?
Because some people say that  half square doesn't need radials some say yes they need radials ...... you say the trust ??

Does someone know how work a multiband Half square ?

You don't particularly need radials, but a screen of wires on the ground would probably help cut down on near-field induction losses if the element tips are close to the ground.  If the tips are a few meters off the ground, it probably doesn't matter.

Multiband is hard since the spacing has to be different for each band.

Ok on the radials ground system, but do we have to put radials for each monopoles or not ? i've already seen a draw showing a half square with radials for each monopoles
I 've already seen stations who were using Half Square without radial but it 's certainly not the best choice ??

I have a 2 elements vertical array on 40M i'm not sure if the result will be better with such an antenna (the Half Square)?
