looking to use my icom 725 hf rig with a alinco edx-2.
any help would be great

Just follow the manual for the alinco.  A good RF ground is most important.  I use a similar setup with a 38 ft whip and ground is my metal garage bulding.  The base of the whip is above the eaves of the garage.

mainly looking for wiring info and if there is an adapter cable to mate the tuner with the icom,wiring diagrams ect.

Look the schematic in the EDX-2 manual.

There are four connections to be concerned with: +13.8v, GROUND, KEY and START.

Look at your 725's manual and find the connector for the external  tuner and match the connections. A 5-pin female Molex connector and whatever you need for the ICOM  should let you make up your own adaptor in five minutes.

It's amazing what you can find out if you look at the schematics. Smiley
