Is the ALC output on the SB-200 heathkit amp compatible with the Kenwood TS-940s?  Will it cause damage if connected?

Thanks.

I have an SB-200 and a SB-220 operating with a IC-746Pro.  The amp's ALC voltages were incompatable with the Icom. I have been running both amps without using the ALC connection for several years. No problems.

The ALC output of the SB-200/220 will be fine with the TS-940. Amplifier ALC output is about the same as the Kenwood TL-922.

fist, if your driving the sb-200 with 150+ watts, you will need the alc.
If your driving it with 100 watt rig, you cannot over drive that amp.  why connect the alc??
not needed.
The old Heath kit stuff was built when "input" was estimated. Now days the out put is measured.
So unless your driving it with a spark gap, or holicrafters, or some other 150+ watt rig, your
prolly more than safe wihtout the alc.
personally, I wouldn't risk damaging my radio.
watch your gid and plate ma, if they are within specs, your ok, no worries.

See you on 3.696mhz, most nites.
