Magellan Explorist 500 and TM-D700A

Has anyone any information regarding any "inventions" that will allow an explorist to "talk" to the Kenwood? I found a web site ( http://www.msh-tools.com/softw.html ) offering a simple circuit. But am afraid to try it on my new Magellan. Any comments would be greatful. AI4NV

Looks like a lot of work to get a temporary RS-232 line.

It should work, though. Bits is bits.
