Any one know how to get a Mores Code ring tone?
Any one know how to get a Mores Code ring tone in my Verizon SAMSUNG model SCH-U540
I know it is silly and I think it would be different.

A google search on Morse Code {spelled correctly) Ring Tone returned 386,000 hits.
Google is your friend.
For uploading ringtones to your phone, so are Bitpim and the right cable.

Go to this website. It will let you type in your OWN TEXT. It will convert it to CW and provide a link to get it as a ringtone. Much better than just a CQ CQ. Any Text You Want - as a ringtone. http://www.qrparci.org/content/view/83/9/ |

Someone left a message: "E"

I once had a Captain Midnight Code Whistle, got it for a quarter and a boxtop back in 1946. Each time the program was on the air the announcer would give us a coded message and we could decode it. Helped save old Captain Midnight from the Shark many times.
Old Inspector Morse had code messages after his TV show. So long John Thaw!

Mine says "RING RING ANSWER ME" in CW but with most phones you can assign different ring tones to different incoming numbers which could be cool.

Alan, if you have the right phone, you can compose ring tones right on your phone! The XYL's phone can do that (Nokia, I think)

A cellphone is a transceiver that can cost you money even if you only listen to received calls on it.

Also a device that can often cost even more money for working DXpeditions.

Not silly at all, IMHO. Very practical way to have a unique ringtone. I just used my call because it's like hearing someone call my name. If memory serves, I went here: http://www.planetofnoise.com/midi/morse2mid.phpfollowed the instructions, and generated a Morse Code ringtone for my Motorola V180. I find that with the use of the right pitch and waveform, it cuts through ambient noise very well. Some newer phones allow you to associate different ringtones with different numbers in the 'phone's address book. You could have the phone spell out the name or other ID of specific callers ("HOME"..."WORK"...."PEGGY SUE"....etc.) so you know who is calling just by the ringtone. 73 de Jim, N2EY |

I created my callsign in CW using a Morse program (CW TYPE I think), saved it as an MP3 or .wav file, then loaded it into the phone using Motorola Mobile Phone Tools (Google it for a free download).
Random calls ring with my callsign, and for friends and family members, the phone sends their first name in CW. Drives people around me nuts!
