I am attempting to wean myself from Windows,does anyone know of any packet programs   wich would run satisfactorily under  PCLINUX?

Richard, since no one has replied, google linux+packet+radio there is so much out there I don't want to recommend any specific thing since I rarely use the verious Linux editions. Also do a search for linux ham.

If you mean Dx clusters there is xdx or colrdx. For normal packet uses try colrconv.
