I CAN NOT FIND A REVIEW FOR THIS AMP ANYWHERE.
I CURRENTLY HAVE A HEATH SB-221 BUT AM THINKING ABOUT SELLING IT TO BUY THIS AMP BUT DON'T KNOW IF IT IS A WISE MOVE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE AMP IS IN GOOD WORKINIG CONDITION AND WILL GET PICS.
I KNOW THAT THIS AMP WILL HAVE A MUCH HIGHER OUTPUT THAN THE SB-221.
PRICE ON THE AMP IS $700 + SHIPPING.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE HENRY 2KD-3 & THE PRICE.
ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

There is no model 2KD-3.

That would imply it's a 3-band amplifier, and they never made one like that.

The correct model number for the 5-band desktop amp is model 2KD-5, and it's been reviewed here:

WB2WIK is most likely correct about the model number.  I have a 2KD-Classic which is a later version of the 2KD-5.  I also have  a SB-220 which is a SB-221 with 10 meters......Bottom line the Henry may be puts out 200 watts more, but needs a lot of drive.  The Henry is built better and may be more ruggard, but the Heathkit is a true workhorse and is still a great amp

W7ETA had better information!

I've had several Henry amps and live near the factory and didn't know there was ever a 2KD3.  I think not very popular, as in all these years I've never seen one.

I've seen a lot of 2KD5's, however, and owned one myself from 1978 to 1986 when I traded up to the 3K Premier.

Based on the description, probably not a lot of difference between the D3 and D5.

Not better information Steve, poor memory.  So I have to scan everything.

But after all, the amp was made during the late 60s, Timothy Leary, The Chicago 7, Bezerkly etc.

I don't remember when the WARC frequencies we gained; it must have been around that time?
