Radio Shack used to sell a 1 watt 2 channel UHF handheld model# BTX-128 catalog number 19-1207. This is the UHF version not the other Motorola clone they once sold with the same BTX-128 model number.
The UHF radio has 8 frequencies you can set by a combination of dip switch programming and using other buttons on the radio to program it for frequencies and tone squelch. It states however that it can be specially programmed to other UHF business frequencies between 461 to 469 mhz.
Does anyone know the program method to do this??
There is a second set of dip switches and a set button hidden underneath a little cover. The owners and service manual are of no help. Does anybody know how to do it or where to find it on the web??

There are two sets of DIP switches inside the battery compartment, under a cover marked "quiet." The one on the right is used to program the frequencies, and the other one programs the CTCSS tones. The owner's manual tells how to program the frequencies into each of the two channels, and how to program the CTCSS tones. For those that don't have the manual, it is downloadable as a .pdf file from radioshack.com, by typing 19-1207 in the search window.

FYI, Stew

The set of dip switches on the right under the little cover marked "quite" is used to program the radios uhf frequency and also used to set the ctcss frequency.
I have the owners manual and it makes no mention of the left hand set of dip switches or the set button in the middle. You have to remove the entire plastic cover to expose all the hidden switches. It is not mentioned in the service manual on how to program this either, but it does say the radio CAN be programmed to any frequency from 461 to 469 mhz. Also the owners manual states if taken to a "authorized facility", it says that it can be set to other frequencies than the 8 listed in the owners manual.
There is a way to do this but who has the secret programming info on how to do it other than the mentioned "authorized facility"Huh
Any help out there??
