WHAT IS THE FREQUENCY RANGE OF THIS RADIO PLEASE ?  I TRIED REPROGRAMMING FROM MARINE FREQS TO HAM AND IT IS NOT ALLOWING ?

Depends on the split; since yours was on marine frequencies, it is likely the model that covers 146-174 MHz.  Soooo....short of hacking the software and retuning the radio, you're not likely to have an easy time of programming it outside those limits.
