hi,

too often, many will be quick to hit the enter key
before proofreading a reply or grab the mic and say
what is on their mind before thinking about it.

these same people, either at the hamfest,
club meeting or at the office would never
do that when you are face to face with them.

All we can do is just ignore them and perhaps
they will go away ?

I am curious as to why you are so concerned about respect. See the following:

respect Definition
re•spect (ri spekt′)
transitive verb

1.   to feel or show honor or esteem for; hold in high regard
2.   to consider or treat with deference or dutiful regard
2.   to show consideration for; avoid intruding upon or interfering with
3.   to concern; relate to

What type if issue does Plankeye have with respect? Does Plankeye not respect others? If so why not? Do others not respect Plankeye? If so, what would cause them not to respect Plankeye?

I do not hold you in high esteem, nor will I treat you with dutiful regard Plankeye.

In you’re first post “Where is the respect in this hobby”  K4ZNC asked you to “Earn your respect by providing a name and call.”

If  Plankeye had any consideration for the good people in this forum Plankeye would have complied with the request. Instead  Plankeye prefers to ignore it.

This leads me to believe that Plankeye does not have consideration or respect for the people in this forum.

Having said that, maybe it would be a good idea to stop intruding in this forum with inane topics.
If what I have said causes Plankeye any concern or if Plankeye is having a difficult time relating to it, might I suggest you honor the request by K4ZNC and provide a name and call instead of hiding behind a screen name. Maybe then you will get a little RESPECT.

Folks are disrespectful because as we all know, the whole lot of Ham Radio operators is nothing but a gaggle of hippies and nasal spray addicts.

One has to earn respect.  So, lets answer that question by looking at a definition of a term that some people have made very popular here.

Trolling:  1.  Messages intended solely to annoy and/or offend other users by going against the clear nature of a board, topic or chat room.
2.  Deliberately provoking arguments on newsgroups or bulletin boards, with no other intent than to gain attention for the sake of attention.

If a person engages in trolling, as seems to be the case for this thread, there can be no respect earned, and certainly none given.

Hams aren't disrespectful. They accept each other like family even if most are ugly fat smelly lids that can't solder a PL259. What kind of dumb idiot thinks other people are disrespectful? I've never seen anyone be disrespectful no matter how stupid people are or how dumb their questions are.

Show me one disrespectful post. I dare you to find one.

To Jim K4CAV,

Well spoken! If someone has not the courage or common courtesy to identify oneself then they are no better than the lids that refuse to identify.

plankeye, if you want respect do as others here that have a common goal, identify yourself and join in advancing our service/hobby, quit posting inane subjects and join in as an amateur not a lurker.

nuff said!
