Dear Elmer,

I recently upgraded to Amateur Extra and yesterday was granted a new callsign, WE5I.

I emailed the guys at QRZ about the change and asked them how to change my info to reflect my new callsign, which still appeared with the former holder's info.

They sent back an automated reply saying they got my message.

The info for both calls stayed as it was for 24 hours, then both went blank. If you look at both k5pew and we5i on qrz, you get:

The search for "k5pew" (or we5i) produced no results.

Is this a normal part of the process of new data being set up on a callsign change? If this seems wrong to you, what is the normal process to get your new info squared away on QRZ?

Thanks.

Graham........

You can only update non FCC infomation, not a new call sign. Once QRZ updates it's data base your new call will show up.

It is already on the Buckmaster's site.....http://hamcall.net/call?callsign=we5i

Graham,

It's too early to worry about it. FCC ULS shows that you were issued your new callsign only yesterday (12/23/08). QRZ will automatically update when they get it from the FCC. Look for the update on Friday.

The FCC database is the only one you need to be interested in.  Congrats.
